After eating their rotisserie chicken, you'll never go back to the grocery store version. Flavorful throughout, falling off the bone perfectly cooked. Potato pancakes are da bomb. Other sides looked great. The only thing "Yiddish" style about the place is its cramped space, short hours and extremely push local retiree clientele that thinks you can't possibly be in line unless you are smooshed up behind the person in front of you.

Tomberg's is one of a handful of businesses that still exists in the most depressing shopping center in Delray Beach. You would never find it unless you knew to look for it, as it is tucked away around a corner and all of the adjacent storefronts are vacant. Established in the 1950's, they are slinging fantastic rotisserie chicken, homemade salads and latkes at a very fair cost for (if my calculator is correct) about 60 years. My potato latke was crunchy and delicious. If ever in the mood for chicken in it's purest form, this is the place to go. Cash only.

A must try place. They have the best rotisserie chicken out there!

Even though the customer service is on par with the "Soup Nazi", I have to give them 5 stars for the potato latkes. Whenever I'm in Palm Beach, I make sure that I make it to Tombergs. The chicken is flavorful, the cole slaw is cold, crisp, and tangy, and the latkes are perfect. The are only open about 5 hours per day 5 days a week and you have to order ahead of time. The latkes are greasy, but you can pat them a bit. They are deep fried in oil so what do you expect? They are so awesome that I brought a dozen back to California with me.

I've been to Tomberg's numerous times over the years. I'll go, have a feast, forget about it for months, then pass by and see the sign in what is a seriously depressed strip mall and my mouth just starts to water thinking about the food. Then I have to stop and indulge all over again. Their rotisserie chicken is absolutely excellent; it's juicy and well seasoned, but I really go for the potato pancakes. They are so perfect. They are thick, brown and crisp on the outside, slightly greasy (you can take care of that with a paper towel at home), but when you bite into them you get a deliciously creamy mouthful that has just the right amount of onion and seasoning. It's flawless really. They have other sides that are good; rice stuffing, creamed spinach and even sweet potato pancakes, which I'd like more if I liked sweet stuff, but I don't. Take-out only, cash only and no hemming and hawing once you get to the front of the line. These ladies mean business and you'd better know what you want. Regulars have kept this place alive for years and with good reason. Tomberg's, I think I love you!

Welp, guess I won't be trying Tomberg's. Now, I understand that the place is taking a lot of orders considering it's a holiday, but I think it's weird to turn away money. I tried to call and place an order of exclusively latkas, and the [rude] woman on the phone told me that in order to get latkas, I had to buy chicken. "But, I'm a vegetarian- I don't eat chicken." "Well, that's what I'm telling you. You have to order chicken." .....What? You are forced to order meat in order to get some latkas? It just doesn't make sense. Maybe it's special restrictions for today (the first night of Hanukkah)? Who knows. Whatever, it's South Florida. I'm sure there are plenty of Jewish Delicatessens willing to sell me some latkas. I won't be attempting to purchase food from Tomberg's again.

Delicious chicken. Food is made fresh in front of you. Bad news is place is kind of a toilet. Not so clean looking. Grease on floors allows chef to skate in his shoes. I try not to focus on it and enjoy the good food. Great chopped liver and soups as well
